Our partner school school in Bath is seeking a dedicated graduate to join their team as an SEN Support Assistant. The school caters to children aged 4-11 with complex needs, including autism, sensory processing difficulties, communication challenges, and associated learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in education and training while working in a highly supportive and rewarding environment.
As an SEN Support Assistant, you will assist a class of 5 to 10 pupils, working closely with the school's teaching team, therapists, and support staff. You will play a key role in ensuring that students receive the individualised support they need to thrive in both their learning and personal development. This is a highly hands-on role that will give you a deeper understanding of how to support children with additional needs in an educational setting.
As an SEN Support Assistant, you will:
Provide support and encouragement to help students reach their potential
Foster a calm, structured, and positive environment to reduce anxiety and build pupils' confidence
Learn to roll out specialist interventions to support communication, social interaction, and sensory needs
Assist with challenging behaviours, pastoral support, and personal care
Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to ensure students receive a well-rounded learning experience
