Teaching Assistants – Special Education (ASD & Severe Learning Needs)

Start: ASAP

Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only (31 hrs/week)

Hours: Mon/Wed/Thu/Fri: 9:00–15:30 • Tue: 9:00–16:30

About the School

Join a highly respected specialist day school in Surrey, currently educating pupils aged 3–19 with autism spectrum disorders and/or severe learning disabilities. Rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted.

The Role

We’re seeking dynamic and motivated Teaching Assistants to support our mission of preparing pupils for life. You’ll join a committed team to help:

*

Deliver tailored education and care for pupils with ASD and/or severe learning disabilities

*

Support both whole-class and small-group learning

*

Assist in developing pupils’ independence, communication, emotional regulation, and life skills

*

Implement evidence-based strategies (e.g., TEACCH, PECS, Attention Autism)

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

*

Commitment to safeguarding (enhanced DBS required)

*

Adaptability, empathy, patience, and enthusiasm

Desirable:

*

Experience with special educational needs or autism (training provided)

*

GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
