Full-time

Salary: £105 - £115 per day, depending on experience

About the role/school

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Newham. The school provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children of all backgrounds are welcomed. Through a broad and engaging curriculum, children are encouraged to be curious, confident, and compassionate, with a supportive staff team working closely with families and the wider community.

Job Responsibilities

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs in 1:1 or small group settings.

Assist teachers with planning, resources, and differentiated activities.

Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and emotional wellbeing.

Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals to support children's individual needs.

Qualifications/Experience

To succeed as a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will need:

Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service

Right to work in the UK

Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs is desirable

Strong communication skills, patience, and a supportive approach
