SEMH Teaching Assistant - Wandsworth, SEN School

Location: Wandsworth, London

Salary: £100 - £120 per day (dependent on experience)

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Veritas Education are excited to be working with a well-established SEN school in Wandsworth, looking for an empathetic and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school provides a nurturing environment for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and you will play a pivotal role in helping students overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

Support students with SEMH in the classroom and during activities.

Provide one-to-one or small group support to help with academic progress and emotional development.

Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging emotional well-being and positive behavior.

Work closely with teachers and other professionals to create tailored learning plans.

Assist in the implementation of behavior management strategies.

Help with personal care or additional support where required.

The Ideal Candidate:

Previous experience working with children or young adults with SEMH or other SEN is highly desirable.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.

Patience, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of students.

A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse needs.

Team player who is willing to collaborate and contribute to a positive school environment.
