Location: Liverpool

Pay: GBP95 GBP110 per day (dependent on experience)

Start Date: September (or ASAP)

Contract: Full–time, long–term

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist provision in Liverpool, working with pupils who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people who need encouragement, structure, and consistent support.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting students with SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom

Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils to help regulate behaviour and encourage engagement

Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering a tailored, inclusive curriculum

Promoting a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment

Encouraging emotional development, resilience, and personal growth

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviour essential

A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management

Strong communication and relationship–building skills

A commitment to safeguarding and inclusion

Knowledge of trauma–informed or nurture–based practices highly advantageous

A flexible, team–oriented mindset
