Description
Secondary teaching assistants required
Zen Educate are looking for teaching assistants to take on full time work supporting students in secondary schools in the Gloucester area. This work would see you working with students on a 1:1 basis. Students will often have additional learning needs, so they may be on the autistic spectrum, have ADHD or MLD to name a few. Working hours are 8:30–3:30, Monday to Friday and term time only.
We are looking for people that see the value in supporting and working with teenagers, and helping them excel in their learning but also helping them have the skills to become independent once they leave school. You will need to be good with behaviour management, consistent in your approach and have lots of empathy in relation to what students may be struggling with.
Good teaching assistants are those that are reliable and good communicators. Students with additional needs are more sensitive to change, so its important that they have the support there that helps maintain routine as well as build a rapport with someone that they feel comfortable with.
You will need to have experience with special needs and ideally have school experience, although this is not essential and we can consider those that have worked with children in other capacities.
In return Zen can offer competitive rates of pay, free online training and a online platform to help manage your calendar and work schedule. In order to work with children, you will need to hold an enhanced DBS on the update service.
