Description

Leader Education are recruiting for a Secondary Teaching Assistant to work at a large Secondary School based near Morpeth who cater for children aged 11 to 19 years old. The successful Secondary Teaching Assistant will have a good amount of experience working with children with special educational needs & disabilities (SEND) or have relevant transferable skills. This school places a strong focus on helping students reach their full potential by working hard, cultivating a positive attitude toward learning, and embracing a wide range of activities and opportunities.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 3:30pm and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will have:

An enhanced child and adult DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one

Knowledge and skills relevant to working with SEND children

Strong classroom management skills

An energetic and proactive approach towards supporting the children

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A good understanding of EHCP's

Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students

Proficiency in utilising technology for teaching and learning purposes
