Cover Supervisor – Make a Difference in the Classroom

Location: Macclesfield | Full-Time or Part-Time

Are you confident, reliable, and passionate about working with young people? This Cover Supervisor role is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive Macclesfield secondary school.

Whether you’re a graduate considering teacher training or someone with experience working with children, this role will allow you to support students’ learning, manage classes, and build your career in education.

The Role

Supervise lessons across a range of subjects using pre-planned materials

Keep students engaged and on task in the absence of the regular teacher

Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

Provide feedback to teachers about student progress and conduct

Work closely with teaching and support staff to maintain a positive learning environment

Build valuable experience in a school setting — perfect for aspiring teachers

This Role is Ideal for:

Graduates interested in a career in teaching

PGCE or teacher training applicants

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) building classroom experience

Individuals with youth work, coaching, tutoring, or school-based experience

What We’re Looking For

Experience working with children or young people (this is essential)

A degree or strong academic background

Confidence in leading a classroom and managing behaviour

Clear communication and interpersonal skills

A positive, proactive attitude and team spirit

A strong commitment to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
