Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Tameside to recruit a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Technician to start in September.

This is a full-time, term-time only position, offering a competitive daily rate of £100, and is ideal for applicants with a strong background in laboratory work.

About the Role:

As a Science Technician, you will be a vital part of the Science Department, supporting teachers in the delivery of engaging and hands-on science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Your key responsibilities will include:

Preparing, setting up and maintaining scientific apparatus and resources for practical experiments.

Assisting in lessons where technical support is required.

Ensuring all laboratories are well-organised and comply with current health and safety guidelines.

Safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.

Monitoring stock levels and ordering equipment and materials when necessary.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have prior laboratory experience - either in a school setting or another scientific environment (this is essential).

Be confident using lab equipment and following correct safety procedures.

Demonstrate strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Be a reliable team player with a flexible and proactive approach.

Important: Only candidates with previous laboratory experience will be considered.
