Psychology Graduate – SEMH School Support Role

Location: Wigan

Are you a Psychology Graduate eager to gain valuable experience in a supportive Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) school? This exciting opportunity in Wigan is perfect for graduates looking to develop practical skills while making a meaningful difference to children and young people with SEMH needs.

The Role:

As a Psychology Graduate working in a SEMH school, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs, as well as Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons that promote engagement and progress.Support pupils with social skills, communication, and emotional regulation throughout the school day.Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment by encouraging independence and resilience.Contribute to behaviour management strategies and personalised learning plans.Work closely with SEN specialists, therapists, and teaching staff to provide holistic support for pupils.What We're Looking For:

A Psychology Graduate (or similar discipline) with a genuine passion for SEMH and child development.Strong communication, patience, and empathy.Ability to work proactively and adapt to different pupil needs.Experience working with children (paid or voluntary) is desirable but not essential.What's on Offer:
