Teaching Assistant – Primary School – Newham
Long Term Futures are working with a vibrant, inclusive primary school in Newham to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join the team from September 2025.
The school has a strong focus on early learning, emotional wellbeing and personalised support. Staff benefit from regular CPD, a structured development programme, and excellent support from senior leadership. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for working with young children and a desire to grow in the education sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide in–class support across EYFS, KS1 or KS2 depending on experience
Work 1:1 with pupils with additional needs including EAL or SEND
Assist in delivering small group phonics, reading and maths interventions
Support positive behaviour, engagement and social development
Help prepare resources, displays and classroom materials
Collaborate with teachers and the SENCo to ensure every child is supported
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting
A calm, nurturing and proactive approach to support
Strong communication and teamwork skills
An understanding of EYFS/KS1/KS2 curriculum and child development
An interest in progressing into HLTA, SEN support or teacher training
Location and Transport – Newham, East London
Easily accessible from Plaistow, Upton Park and East Ham stations (District and H&C lines)
