Description

Nurture Teacher – SEMH Provision (Ages 7–16)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurture Teacher to join a specialist SEMH provision on a full-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people who require additional support to re-engage with education.

The provision supports pupils aged 7–16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced barriers to learning in mainstream settings. The school offers a nurturing, structured, and therapeutic environment where relationships and consistency are key to success.

About the Role

As a Nurture Teacher, you will:

Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils across KS2–KS4

Build positive, trusting relationships that support pupils’ emotional regulation and engagement

Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including support staff and pastoral professionals

Provide a structured and predictable classroom environment that promotes safety and learning

Support pupils to achieve core academic outcomes, including GCSE pathways where appropriate

The Provision Offers

Small class sizes (typically 8–10 pupils) with additional support staff

A reduced and focused curriculum, prioritising core subjects and key skills

A strong emphasis on nurture, therapeutic approaches, and relational practice

A supportive and collaborative staff team committed to positive outcomes for every pupil

Ongoing professional development and opportunities to grow within SEMH education

A purposeful and inclusive environment where every child is valued

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

QTS or QTLS (essential)

Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges

A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to teaching

Strong behaviour management skills rooted in understanding and consistency

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

The ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of emotional and academic needs

A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers and succeed

Why Apply?

This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a setting where relationships, wellbeing, and progress are at the heart of everything. For the right candidate, it is an incredibly fulfilling position that allows you to have a lasting impact on pupils’ lives and futures.

TLTP Group is an Equal Opportunities employer. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. xjnqpsq All appointments are subject to appropriate vetting checks.

We also offer a Refer and Earn scheme—earn £250 for every successful referral (terms and conditions apply)
