Specialist Teaching Assistant – ADHD & Autism Support

Location: Chorley

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time, ongoing with potential for permanent placement

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to join a well-established special school in Chorley, supporting pupils with ADHD and Autism.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic, resilient, and committed to supporting young people in reaching their potential within an inclusive and nurturing school environment.

The Role:

Supporting children with ADHD and Autism on a 1:1 and small group basis

Assisting with personalised learning plans to help pupils engage and succeed

Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide holistic support

Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly ADHD and Autism

A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to support

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families

A genuine passion for making education accessible for all
