The School of Vocational and Technical Studies (VTS) at South Thames College is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Health and Social Care Lecturer to deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment and tutorial support to students to maximise achievement and continuous improvement.

You’ll play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum with employer engagement and learner skills development and you’ll develop, initiate, promote and sustain innovative and quality improvement intervention strategies. Selecting appropriate assessment methods and criteria, assessing the work and progress of students by reference to the criteria and providing constructive feedback to students, you’ll seek ways of improving performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery as well as obtaining and analysing feedback.

We’re looking for someone who holds a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards), a relevant degree in Health and Social Care and teaching experience in Health and Social Care in an FE College. With a successful record of tutoring and supporting learners and of setting and implementing target setting, monitoring and reviewing progress, you’ll have strong evidence of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment and of effective employer engagement in curriculum design and delivery.

You’ll have strong working knowledge of current framework for teaching, learning, assessment and quality assurance with interdisciplinary skills and working experience. With advanced level of computer literacy and general office software management skills, you’ll be an effective communicator (verbal and written) in both group and interpersonal situations, able to work under pressure and to strict validating body deadlines.
