The Position - Learning Support Assistant

A highly regarded primary school is seeking a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team from 7th September. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced LSA, Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Support Worker to provide dedicated support to a Year 6 pupil with ADHD and SEMH needs. The pupil can present with verbally challenging behaviour and may struggle with emotional regulation, transitions and returning to lessons. At times, they may abscond from the classroom or refuse to come back into the school building following break or lunchtime. As the LSA, you will work closely with the pupil throughout the school day, helping them regulate their emotions, manage challenging situations and access their learning in a safe and positive way. The successful candidate will be calm, patient, resilient and confident when managing challenging behaviour. Previous experience supporting children with ADHD, SEMH, behavioural needs or emotional regulation difficulties would be highly desirable.
