Learning Support Assistant - Independent Secondary School | Barnet

Location: Barnet

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full Academic Year

Daily Rate: £109 per day

Year Group: Year 7

Focus: 1:2 support with students with high-functioning ASC

SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be working with a forward-thinking and nurturing independent secondary school in Barnet, who are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This role will involve supporting two Year 7 pupils with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them to thrive academically and socially during their transition into secondary school.

The Role at a Glance:

Provide 1:2 support across lessons, helping pupils remain focused and engaged.

Support with task initiation, concentration, and completion of work.

Encourage independence while offering reassurance and structure where needed.

Work alongside class teachers and the SENCO to implement and refine support strategies.

Monitor and share progress to inform future learning plans.

About You:

Previous experience supporting pupils with ASC (in secondary or upper KS2 preferred).

Strong understanding of strategies to support focus, organisation, and learning.

Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to building positive relationships.

Confident communicator with excellent organisation skills.

Able to take initiative while following direction from teaching staff.

Enthusiastic about inclusive education and supporting neurodiverse learners.
