Learning Support Assistant - KS3 Focus

Location: Surrey area

Salary: £25,00 per annum (40 hr working week - term time only)

Contract: Full-time, term-time only

Start Date: September 2025

Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential? Do you have experience working with Key Stage 3 pupils in an educational or care setting?

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive specialist school environment catering for pupils with a range of needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

You will:

Support an assigned tutor group throughout their school day, including lessons and transitions.

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and engagement.

Work collaboratively with teachers and therapists to implement effective teaching strategies tailored to each pupil's needs and EHCP targets.

Deliver adapted learning content to small groups or individuals as directed by the teacher.

Support positive behaviour, wellbeing, and safeguarding at all times.

Assist with off site trips, enrichment activities, break times, and lunchtimes to ensure pupil safety and participation.Key Requirements:

Experience supporting pupils within Key Stage 3 OR personal experience building relationships with young adults

Understanding of autism, learning disabilities, or SEMH needs (training can be provided)

Ability to build rapport and motivate pupils to engage in learning

Confident in following teacher instruction while also being proactive in offering support within lessons

Committed to promoting safeguarding and well-being in line with school policies
