Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Knowsley, Liverpool

Start Date: September 1st

Salary: GBP105GBP115 per day

Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive special primary school in Knowsley, Liverpool. The school caters to pupils aged 4 to 11 with a range of special educational needs, including social, emotional, and behavioural needs, autism spectrum conditions, and additional learning difficulties.

This community-focused school values communication, positive relationships, independence, and emotional well-being. Staff work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to provide a nurturing, inclusive, and structured environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group learning support to pupils with a variety of special educational needs.

Assist pupils with accessing the curriculum, developing learning skills, and building confidence.

Support emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour strategies when required.

Encourage independence, resilience, and social skills through consistent, positive reinforcement.

Work closely with class teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored learning interventions.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 months classroom or learning support experience in the UK.

Experience working with children with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs is desirable.

Passionate about supporting pupils to achieve their potential in an inclusive setting.

Able to build strong, trusting relationships with children and staff.

Eligibility

Right to work in the UK.

Enhanced Child Barred List DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply).

Two professional references related to childcare or education.

Available to work full-time from September 1st.
