Learning Support Assistant

We are working closely with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Lewisham who are looking to appoint a compassionate and proactive Early Years Learning Support Assistant to join them this September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting a child or small group of children with additional needs in an Early Years setting.

About the Role:

Supporting pupils in Nursery or Reception with special educational needs (e.g. autism, speech and language delay, developmental delay)

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions

Providing emotional and learning support to help pupils thrive in a nurturing environment

Supporting children 1:1 or in small groups, both in and outside of the classroom

Contributing to assessments and progress tracking

Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with children in EYFS, ideally within a school or nursery setting

Knowledge or experience of supporting children with SEN (e.g. ASD, communication needs, sensory processing)

Confident, patient and nurturing approach

Committed to promoting inclusive education and safeguarding at all times

Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Early Years Diploma) are desirable but not essential
