Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Part Time

Location: Fareham Area

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 12:00–3:30pm daily (17.5 hours/week) – flexible for the right candidate

Exciting Opportunity for a Part–Time HLTA

We are currently recruiting for a motivated and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a nurturing and inclusive primary school in the Fareham area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA or someone with equivalent experience looking to make a meaningful impact in a part–time role.

The successful HLTA will work closely with teachers, SEND staff, and pupils to deliver high–quality learning support, interventions, and class cover.

Key Responsibilities of the HLTA Role:

Provide planned and ad–hoc class cover across year groupsDeliver booster sessions and targeted interventions to raise attainmentSupport pupils with SEND and EHCP targetsWork collaboratively with teachers and the wider support teamPromote positive behaviour and engagementFollow guidance from external agencies to meet individual needsBuild nurturing relationships to help pupils overcome barriers to learningMaintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times

What We're Looking For in an HLTA:

HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (or willingness to complete training)Experience supporting pupils with additional needsA flexible, proactive, and reflective approachAbility to extend learning and promote inclusionStrong communication and teamwork skillsA Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) who is passionate about helping every child thrive
