Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Two-Form Entry Primary School in Harrow

Full-Time, Term Time Only | £115-£125 per day (depending on experience)

Start Date: September 2025 - July 2026

A forward-thinking two-form entry primary school in Harrow is looking to appoint a confident and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for the full academic year starting in September 2025. This is a full-time, term-time only position, ideal for someone with strong classroom presence and excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, including delivering lessons in the teacher's absence. This opportunity offers valuable experience for those considering a future in teaching.

This role includes:

Leading learning in the classroom when the teacher is absent

Supporting small group work and delivering interventions

Assisting with resource preparation and class organisation

Working across a range of year groups within the primary phase

Collaborating with teachers and support staff to ensure pupil progress

Adapting to changes in plans and schedules with flexibility and professionalism

We are looking for someone who:

Holds HLTA status ideally

Has experience leading whole-class teaching in a primary setting

Demonstrates a strong grasp of the primary curriculum

Communicates clearly and confidently with both adults and children

Can adapt quickly to changing plans and is calm under pressure

Brings initiative, energy, and a proactive attitude to school life

This role will suit someone who has worked in a similar position or is looking to gain further experience before pursuing Initial Teacher Training in the future.
