Teaching Assistant - Autism Support (Full-Time)

Location: Huyton, Merseyside

Position: Teaching Assistant - ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) Support

Contract Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday

Start Date: September 2025

Salary: £85 - £125 per day (dependent on experience)

Prospero Teaching is looking for a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a welcoming and inclusive school in the Huyton area. This full-time role is specifically to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other additional needs.

This is an ideal position for a candidate who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and has a calm, nurturing approach to learning support.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 or small group support to students with Autism

Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans

Promote engagement, independence, and emotional well-being

Help manage behaviour in a supportive and consistent way

Work collaboratively with SENCOs, therapists, and other support staffEssential Requirements:

Proven experience supporting children or young people with Autism

Strong understanding of ASD strategies and communication techniques (e.g., PECS, visual timetables, sensory tools)

Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude

A DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)

Relevant TA qualification or equivalent experience preferredWhat Prospero Teaching Offers:
