Teaching Assistant

Full time (Monday to Friday 8.30am-3.30pm)

Start date: September 2025

A school within the Burnley area are currently seeking an experienced Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil who will be joining their EYFS class on a 1:1 basis. The pupil is currently on the pathway towards a diagnosis and will require additional support both academically and socially, as well as personal care.

The successful candidate will be able to create a safe and nurturing learning environment by implementing a calm and consistent approach. They will also implement a number of specialist techniques including regular interventions, the use of visual timetables, sensory breaks and pictorial cues. A key part of the role will be to support the pupil with speech and language development, support will be provided by the school’s SENCo as well as external agencies.

There is also a number of welfare hours that are included within this role, meaning that you would be supervising pupils throughout the lunchtime period.

Requirements:

- Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent

- Previous experience supporting pupils within an educational setting.

- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.

- An enthusiastic attitude and willingness to learn.

- The highest commitment to safeguarding and ensuring the safety of pupils.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
