Job Title: English Teacher Secondary School

Location: Tring, Hertfordshire

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full–Time, Long–Term (with potential for permanent placement)

Salary: Competitive (based on experience and pay scale)

The Opportunity: A welcoming and high–performing secondary school in the Tring area is seeking a fully qualified English Teacher to join their team from September 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity to teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if you have the experience). The school is looking for an inspiring teacher who can engage students through creative, well–structured lessons and make a real impact on academic outcomes.

The Role: Teaching English to KS3 and KS4 students (KS5 teaching available if experienced)

Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons

Assessing and monitoring student progress in line with school policies

Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment

Attending departmental meetings, parents evenings, and CPD as required

Candidate Requirements: QTS, PGCE, QTLS, or equivalent overseas teaching qualification

Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school setting

A passion for English and a commitment to raising student attainment

A creative, energetic, and positive approach to teaching

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)
