Location: East London Contract: Full–time or Part–time Levels 1–4

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to join our dynamic and supportive teaching team. You will be responsible for teaching, assessing, and supporting learners across a range of Mechanical Engineering courses, from Level 1 through to Level 4, including 14–19 provision, adult learners, and apprenticeships.

This is an exciting opportunity to bring your industry expertise into the classroom and inspire the next generation of engineers while contributing to the growth and development of our Mechanical curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach and assess accredited Mechanical Engineering qualifications both in college and at employer premises. Support curriculum development to ensure courses meet industry standards, national requirements, and local employment needs. Design and deliver engaging, flexible training programmes that equip learners with the practical and technical skills needed to succeed. Act as a course tutor, providing individual guidance and pastoral support to students. Develop student–centred teaching and learning strategies that promote retention, achievement, and progression. Liaise with employers, awarding bodies, and colleagues to ensure quality delivery and positive learner outcomes. Maintain accurate course records, assessment documentation, and meet awarding body/QCA requirements. Actively engage in course reviews, internal verification, and college quality assurance processes. Promote Equality, Diversity, Safeguarding, and Health & Safety in all aspects of your work. What we're looking for:

A recognised teaching or training qualification (e.g. PGCE, DTTLS) or willingness to work towards one. Qualified in Mechanical Engineering with relevant industry experience. Assessor qualifications (A1) desirable, with V1 Award also an advantage. Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and employers. Experience in designing schemes of work, lesson planning, and assessment strategies. Excellent organisational and problem–solving skills. A commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Safeguarding practices. Why Join Us?

Be part of a forward–thinking and supportive teaching team with a strong track record of success. Play a key role in shaping future engineers and supporting local workforce development. Access to professional development opportunities to enhance both teaching and industry skills. Opportunity to work with a diverse range of learners across college–based and employer–based training.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your Mechanical Engineering expertise to make a real impact in education and industry, while developing your own professional career in teaching and training.
