As an English ECT, you will be responsible for delivering stimulating and thoughtful lessons that develop pupils reading, writing, and analytical skills. The role is designed to offer full support as you transition into a qualified teaching post, enabling you to flourish in both your subject delivery and professional development.
Key Responsibilities of the ECT English:
Deliver engaging and structured English lessons that captivate and challenge learners.Inspire a love of reading, creative expression, and effective communication.Plan and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs and abilities.Create a positive, inclusive, and well–managed classroom environment.Reflect on practice and seek continuous professional growth through feedback and collaboration.Contribute to school–wide initiatives and uphold a commitment to excellence in education. Job Requirements of the ECT English:
A recognised teaching qualification with QTS or ECT (with English specialism).Strong subject knowledge in English literature and language.Previous school–based experience teaching English as an ECT is required.A genuine enthusiasm for teaching English and nurturing young minds.Strong classroom presence with effective behaviour management techniques.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
