Supply Desk is currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Watford and surrounding areas, including Bushey, Rickmansworth, Abbots Langley, and Kings Langley. This is an ideal opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with experience working with young people who want to step into the classroom and make a real impact.

As a Cover Supervisor, you won’t be expected to plan or mark work. Instead, you’ll play a vital role in keeping pupils on task and ensuring a calm and productive learning environment during teacher absences.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Supervising a class of pupils in the absence of their regular teacher

Delivering pre-set lesson materials and ensuring pupils remain focused and engaged

Managing behaviour effectively and following each school’s behaviour policy

Taking the register and maintaining a safe and orderly classroom environment

Reporting back to teaching staff on behaviour, participation, and any issues

Responding to basic student questions and offering general classroom support

You will be working across a range of subjects and schools – every day brings something new!

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with young people – in schools, youth work, sports coaching, tutoring, etc.

Confidence in leading a classroom and maintaining control in a professional manner

Good communication skills and a calm, positive approach

Flexibility and reliability – essential for cover roles!

A current enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Willingness to travel to schools across Watford and surrounding areas

Ideal for:
