Cover Supervisor – Full-Time | Secondary School | St Albans

Teach Now is looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a thriving secondary school in St Albans this September. This full-time opportunity is perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on teaching experience in a supportive and professional school setting.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom to deliver pre-planned lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5 during teacher absences. Your role is to keep students engaged, maintain a focused learning environment, and ensure the smooth running of the school day.

This role does not require planning or marking – instead, it calls for excellent classroom management, a positive attitude, and the ability to build rapport with students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver and manage pre-set lesson plans across various subjects

• Ensure pupils remain on task and in class throughout the lesson

• Maintain discipline and uphold school behaviour policies

• Provide feedback on student progress to teaching staff

• Adapt quickly to different classroom environments

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working in schools or youth settings preferred

• Strong behaviour management and communication skills

• Calm, professional, and adaptable in a school environment

• Passionate about supporting students’ learning and well-being

• Degree holders and aspiring teachers welcome!
