Description

Cover Supervisor (Temporary / Flexible) - Watford

What is a Cover Supervisor?

A cover supervisor is responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Their primary role is to ensure that students remain engaged in learning activities while following the teacher's lesson plan. Cover supervisors do not usually teach new content or provide subject-specific expertise. Instead, they maintain order in the classroom, oversee the completion of work assigned by the absent teacher, and provide support where needed.

Do you need formal teaching qualifications?

No! While you'll need strong communication and organisational skills, you don't necessarily need formal teaching qualifications to become a cover supervisor. This makes it an accessible entry point for those interested in working in education but not yet ready to commit to full-time teaching qualifications.
