Cover Supervisor with a PE Specialism

Are you a proactive, forward thinker with strong organisation and communication skills who feels passionate about the education of young people? Are you looking for variety and experience of working in a school setting?

We wish to recruit a new Cover Supervisor to manage the delivery of set curriculum work in the absence of a class teacher, including PE lessons. Sporting excellence is at the very heart of the curriculum at our school. This means our PE staff often take students to team fixtures, tournaments and on sporting trips/tours. As a result, having a Cover Supervisor with specialism in PE means in their absence the classes in school can continue enjoying practical PE as part of their core curriculum. Of course, much of the time our PE staff are in school meaning you would be deployed to cover classroom lessons in a variety of subjects. We also aim for the candidate taking on this role to help run and coach students as part of our extra-curricular sport programme outside lesson times, being part of our extended PE team.

You will be provided with good professional development opportunities and the chance to accompany school trips should you wish to. Applicants should have the confidence and presence to manage whole classes, as well as the skills to relate positively to individual students and staff. Applicants who have an interest in providing cover for girls’ sport/PE activities and clubs will be particularly welcome. If you want to work with children, if you have the flexibility and courage to supervise students across a variety of subjects and if sport is your specialism so you can have overseeing PE classes as your first port-of-call, then please apply.
