Job Title: BSL Teaching Assistant
Location: Brent, North West London
Start Date: October 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Salary: £100 - £120 per day (PAYE, DOE)
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a skilled British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary School in Brent from September 2025.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced BSL practitioner to support pupils with hearing impairments and additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence in a nurturing school environment.
The Role:
Delivering 1:1 and small group support using BSL to aid communication and learning
Assisting class teachers with adapted lessons and personalised support plans
Encouraging independence, confidence, and social interaction among pupils
Supporting the wider inclusion of pupils within the mainstream school setting
What We're Looking For:
BSL qualification (minimum Level 2 required)
Experience supporting children or young people with hearing impairments (school or care setting)
A calm, patient and proactive approach to supporting learning
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
