Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant - Year 3 (1:1 Support)

Location: Oldham

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you a compassionate and dedicated professional with experience supporting students who present challenging behaviour? Do you have a background in SEND and the confidence to implement effective behaviour management strategies? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 3 pupil who exhibits significant behavioural challenges. This is a rewarding and impactful role where you'll play a vital part in helping a child remain engaged in school and access learning in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide focused 1:1 behaviour support to a Year 3 pupil

Use de-escalation and behaviour management techniques to diffuse challenging situations

Work with the class teacher and external professionals to implement an individual support plan

Support the pupil in completing academic work and staying engaged in learning

Maintain a positive, consistent, and calm presence within the classroom

Record and report behaviour incidents, progress, and interventions as required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with pupils with SEND and/or challenging behaviour

Team-Teach training (or willingness to complete training)

A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management

Strong xjnqpsq communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents

A flexible and adaptable attitude, able to respond quickly to changing situations
