Behaviour Support Assistant – Permanent Position

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent behaviour management skills and strong conflict resolution abilities to join a dedicated team who are committed to ensuring every child achieves their full potential.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with students who have been removed from the main classroom or are based within the school’s specialist resource unit. You’ll provide guidance, support, and encouragement to help students re-engage positively with learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis.

Managing challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.

Implementing strategies to promote positive choices and emotional regulation.

Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for every child.

What We’re Looking For:

Strong behaviour management and conflict resolution skills.

Experience working with children or young people (in school, youth work, or similar settings).

A resilient and empathetic nature, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Transferable skills from roles such as Youth Worker, Sports Coach, Care Worker, or Learning Support Assistant are welcome, but childcare experience is essential.
