The Role - Behaviour Mentor

We are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join a dynamic SEMH school, starting as soon as possible. In this role, you will provide 1:1 support to students with SEMH and ASD needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. The ideal Behaviour Mentor will have at least one year’s experience in a school setting and a genuine passion for supporting young people. Team Teach training is highly desirable for this Behaviour Mentor position.

The School – Behaviour Mentor

This SEMH provision in Croydon, part of a wider trust, is an all-through special school spread across three sites and catering for pupils from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4. The school offers 128 funded places, primarily for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans, whose needs include social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, as well as autism, ADHD, severe anxiety, and communication challenges.

With a nurturing and therapeutic approach, the school delivers a broad, personalised curriculum, supported by high staff-to-pupil ratios and a dedicated multi-disciplinary therapy team. By working in close partnership with families and external agencies, the school is committed to helping pupils build resilience, achieve positive outcomes, and prepare successfully for adulthood as confident and valued members of their communities.
