A SEN school in Somerset are seeking an inspirational and innovative Assistant Headteacher to join their senior leadership team following a restructure. This is a key role, working closely with the Head Teacher to raise standards of pupil attainment, lead curriculum development, and ensure high–quality teaching and learning across the school.

Assistant Headteacher – Special School Leadership (SEND)Salary: Grade L7–L12 ( 54,816 – 61,882)Contract Type: Full–time, permanentStart date: ASAPThe Role

Working with children and young people aged 4–19 with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).Lead and manage teaching staff and support staff within your area of responsibility.Drive pupil progress and achievement, including overseeing special needs provision.Develop and enhance the teaching practice of colleagues.Manage resources effectively, including budgets, staffing, and physical space.Uphold school policies and contribute to the School Improvement Plan.Teach 0.4 of the week and model outstanding classroom practice.Essential Requirements
