ASD Teaching Assistant
Location: Barras Heath, Coventry, CV2Weekly Pay: 500 – 525Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (term time only)Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Long–termLong Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 pupil at a welcoming primary school in Barras Heath, Coventry. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP, helping them to access learning, develop independence and thrive within the classroom environment.
This is a rewarding long–term opportunity for someone with experience supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), who is passionate about making a positive impact on a child's educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with ASD and ADHDSupporting the implementation of EHCP targets and personalised learning strategiesPromoting focus, engagement and participation within lessonsUsing autism–friendly approaches to support communication, routine and emotional regulationImplementing ADHD strategies to support attention, organisation and task completionEncouraging independence, self–confidence and positive peer interactionsWorking collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staffAdapting learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs

Previous experience supporting children with ASD and ADHDKnowledge of neurodiverse learning needs and inclusive classroom practicesUnderstanding of sensory processing needs and strategies to support regulationExperience implementing EHCP outcomes and personalised interventionsTraining or experience describable in areas such as: Autism AwarenessADHD AwarenessZones of RegulationAttention AutismEmotion CoachingRestorative PracticeA patient, proactive and nurturing approachStrong communication and relationship–building skillsExperience working within a primary school settingPassion for supporting children with additional needs
