Alternative Provision - Teaching Assistant

Location: Chesterfield (S41)

Pay Rate: £105 - £120 per day

Hours: Full Time only, 5 days a week (8.30 - 16.20)

Contract: Temp to Perm

Start Date: 3rd November 2025

A well-established and nurturing Alternative Provision in Chesterfield (S41) is seeking a resilient, compassionate, and physically capable Teaching Assistant to join their team as a Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant.

This setting supports young people who are on the verge of exclusion or have been excluded from mainstream education. The school provides a structured, therapeutic environment designed to help pupils re-engage with learning, rebuild confidence, and develop essential life and social skills. Their mission is to unlock each learner's potential, academically, socially, and emotionally, helping them move toward positive and sustainable outcomes.

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs

Help create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

Support pupils' academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and personal development

Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver personalised learning plans

Contribute to behaviour management and therapeutic support strategies

Serve as a positive, consistent role model for students who have faced significant barriers to learningAbout You

Experience working in SEN, alternative provision, PRU, or youth support roles

Resilient, fit, and able - confident supporting students who may present challenging behaviours

Strong behaviour management skills and emotional stability under pressure

Full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is vital.
