Job Title: Online 1:1 Italian Tutor

Location: Remote / Online

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 1 hour per week

Pay: £20 – £35 per hour, depending on experience

Do you have experience supporting pupils with Autism / ASD?

Can you make online language learning engaging, accessible and enjoyable on a 1:1 basis?

TeacherActive is looking for an enthusiastic and patient 1:1 Italian Tutor to provide online tuition for a boy with Autism / ASD.

The successful tutor will deliver one hour of Italian tuition per week, remotely, with sessions tailored around the pupil's individual learning style, interests and communication needs.

We're looking for someone who can build a positive and consistent relationship with the pupil, making Italian enjoyable through interactive, engaging and personalised activities rather than relying solely on traditional classroom-style teaching.

The successful Italian Tutor will have:

Strong Italian language skills

Experience teaching or tutoring Italian

Experience supporting children or young people with Autism / ASD

Confidence delivering 1:1 online tuition

The ability to adapt activities to different learning and communication needs

A patient, encouraging and engaging approach

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

A good understanding of safeguarding

Access to a reliable laptop/computer and internet connection

The role will involve:

Delivering 1 hour of online Italian tuition per week

Planning engaging and personalised Italian sessions

Developing speaking, listening, vocabulary and conversational skills

Adapting teaching strategies around the pupil's ASD and individual needs

Using the pupil's interests to encourage participation and engagement

Building confidence and enjoyment in learning Italian

Providing feedback on engagement and progress where required
