ABA Teaching Assistant

Location: Islington, N7

Pay: £95-£110 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time, long-term, term-time only

Start Date: September 2025

A well-established SEN provision in Islington is seeking an ABA Teaching Assistant to work within their trauma-informed secondary setting. As part of an exceptional team, you will deliver Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) support to students aged 11-16 presenting with SEMH needs, including ASD and ADHD, in a high staff-to-student environment. The provision is small, tailored, and therapeutic educators uphold a consistent approach rooted in celebration, restoration, and de-escalation.

The Role

Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group ABA interventions throughout the school day

Use positive reinforcement and structured routines to support regulation and engagement

Collaborate with the SENCO and therapy team to develop and implement behaviour plans

Facilitate transitions, support classes, and model tailored communication strategies

Monitor and record pupil progress, supporting reintegration or transition goals

The Ideal Candidate

Prior experience or training in ABA, or working in ASD/SEN environments, especially secondary-level SEMH settings

Calm, empathetic, and consistent presence-skilled in de-escalation and structured support

Effective communicator with strong observational skills

Reflection-orientated and able to contribute to a personalised, relationship-based school culture
