Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Location: Belper

Rate: £90 to £110 per day (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Full-Time

A welcoming and supportive school in Belper is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) to provide focused support to a pupil who requires additional help to engage with learning. Your Mission

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA), you’ll work closely with a specific student, offering consistent and personalised support throughout the school day. You’ll help them stay engaged, build confidence, and achieve their learning goals in a nurturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Provide one-to-one support to a pupil, helping them access the curriculum.

Assist with classroom activities and ensure the student remains focused and involved.

Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

Work collaboratively with the class teacher to adapt learning materials.

Monitor and report on the pupil’s progress and engagement.

Help create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning space.

Support the pupil during transitions and break times as needed.

What You Bring to the Table as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Experience working with children in a school setting.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.

Ability to build trust and rapport with individual pupils.

Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning).

Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
