Pay Rate: £95 – £110 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive school based in Sheffield (S6). This is a rewarding opportunity to provide tailored support to a student with additional needs, helping them engage with learning and thrive in the classroom.

As a 1:1 TA, you’ll assist with day-to-day learning activities, encourage participation, and help the pupil achieve their individual goals in a structured and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Provide one-to-one support tailored to the individual needs of the student.

Assist with classroom activities, adapting learning materials where required.

Promote positive behaviour and help manage emotional and social development.

Support the student’s personal care needs where necessary.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.

Requirements for 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Experience working with children with additional needs, ideally in a 1:1 or small group setting.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

A caring, patient, and resilient approach to supporting learners.

A good understanding of safeguarding and SEND.

A valid enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.

A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment over the last 10 years.
