Here we have a Roland XV5050 which was very much a greatest hits of the 5080 which is the rack unit that everyone was using back in the day. This rack has all the classic strings, pads, pianos, basses, hits, fx and synth leads that you have heard on many classic records. Ive always loved its 4x part layer system where sounds consist of 4 layers and can be changes to come up with some really unique sounds. Its also a treasure chest of sounds which are easy to find using the category button and had a lovely function that once you set the global bpm, every sound you then pick has all its settings and effects synced to that BPM. This has rack ear markings so its not cosmetically perfect. For this little outlay, you will not be disappointed with the high quality sounds on board, especially if youre yearning for a vast collection of sounds that are warm and slot into the mix easily.
