Description
My Juno 60 is finally coming back from repair so I'm letting my Juno 6 go.
Sounds amazing.
Pick up from London W2. Sorry I cannot ship this.
The Roland Juno-6 is a six-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer released by Roland in May 1982, designed as a more affordable alternative to high-end polyphonic synthesizers like the Sequential Circuits Prophet-5 and Roland's own Jupiter-8.
It features digitally controlled oscillators (DCOs), which provided significantly improved tuning stability compared to the voltage-controlled oscillators used in previous synthesizers, making it reliable for live performance.
The Juno-6 is a single-oscillator analog synthesizer with a high-pass filter, a low-pass filter, a single ADSR envelope, and a single LFO.
To compensate for its single oscillator, it includes a signature onboard chorus effect, which is engaged using two push buttons for modulation rates of 0.4 Hz and 0.6 Hz, or both simultaneously for a stronger effect.
The Juno-6 also includes performance controls, and an arpeggiator.
It was praised for being the first analog polysynth that could be carried onto a stage and played with confidence that it would remain in tune.
The Juno-6 was succeeded by the Juno-60 in September 1982, which added patch memory for 54 sounds and a DCB connector.
The Juno-6 and Juno-60 are considered by many to have a punchier sound than the later Juno-106.
The Juno-6 has been used by notable artists such as Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran, Enya, Sean Lennon, Sneaker Pimps, Vince Clarke of Erasure, and Banco De Gaia.
