Description

2008 '08' Suzuki Swift Sport 1.6 VVT 3dr hatch, 123bhp, 5-speed manual.

• 171,040 miles
• 6 previous keepers (owned since 3rd February 2023)
• MOT - 4th October 2025
• Service History - Full History (sixteen services recorded in service book in total - serviced in April this year)

I'm selling my fantastic little Swift Sport which I've owned since the start of 2023, having done more than 20k in that time. It's been my daily driver, proving to be impeccably reliable, taking me all over the UK without issue. Don't let the mileage put you off, it feels like a car with significantly lower mileage - testament to a lifetime of mechanical maintenance and preventative component replacement.

The car has had 16 recorded services since new and comes complete with a full leather (original) book-pack (including owners manual) plus some invoices & receipts for parts, etc. It also comes with the V5 in my name and previous MOT's dating back about a decade (though the full MOT history back to 2011 can be seen online). There are five stamps from a Suzuki main dealer and all thereafter are self-services - thanks to the fastidious nature of previous owners (and myself) all parts used for servicing have been recorded in the service book.

Services as follows - 11/2009 (15,887 miles), 07/2010 (20,163 miles), 09/2012 (36,687 miles), 01/2014 (53,385 miles), 11/2014 (61,745 miles), 03/2015 (71,494 miles), 09/2015 (80,871 miles), 04/2016 (90,743 miles), 10/2016 (100,200 miles), 05/2017 (110,167 miles), 01/2018 (121,215 miles), 07/2018 (132,151 miles), 11/2019 (138,182 miles), 02/2023 (149,207 miles), 01/2024 (156,064 miles), 04/2025 (168,238 miles).

As mentioned the service book shows evidence of a multitude of suspension/brake/engine components replaced since 2016 to keep the car in good shape. Some examples include -

• Koni Shock Absorbers/Struts/Top Mounts/H&R Springs (all corners) replaced at 132,851 miles
• Coil Packs replaced at 138,182 miles
• Coolant Flush/Change at 149,207 miles
• Rear Calipers/Discs/Pads replaced at 154,245 miles
• Replacement of solid brake pipes/lines (front to rear) & Brake Fluid Change at 154,251 (at a cost of £755)
• New Windscreen fitted at 170,326 miles

I don't believe in having cheap/mis-matched tyres, so it has Continental ContiSportContact 5's all round. The fronts were replaced very recently (in May) so still have 7mm. The rears are slightly older, but still have 5mm.

The car has a decent specification including electronic climate control, factory alarm/immobiliser, electric windows all round, ABS brakes (with ESP), power steering, electrically adjustable door mirrors, remote central locking and a CD player. It has two original Suzuki keys.

Suzuki did a great job developing the Swift Sport as they're a superb drive. The engine starts immediately, idles and runs perfectly and revs cleanly and smoothly without hesitation. All controls feel tight & responsive and the roadholding is truly excellent. There are no issues with the drivetrain - the gearbox shifts really nicely with a progressive clutch bite, the brakes are excellent and the car tracks straight and true. It'll only require a small top-up of oil between services, about 1/2 litre. It's always been run (in my ownership) on high octane fuel, whether that be Shell V-Power, BP Ultimate or Tesco 99 - this is stipulated as a requirement by Suzuki and prevents pre-detonation/pinking.

Of course, it clearly isn't a new car so does have some minor issues -

• Suzuki's early keyless entry system isn't the greatest! Though generally reliable, it sometimes requires the drivers door to be opened with the key. The passenger side is more reliable.

• The front anti-roll bar drop-links could do with being replaced (thanks to our pot-holed roads!) Though they're not really noticeable on quicker/smoother roads, you can hear them rattle over crashy surfaces. As an example, decent quality Lemforder replacements are only £20 each on AutoDoc.

• The air conditioning is no longer ice cold, though it does function. Could definitely do with a re-gas.

• The alloy wheels have certainly seen better days and are in need of refurbishment.

• There's a noticeable dent on the N/S rear wing (on the panel crease in front of the rear light). It hasn't broken the paint, so I've never seen reason to repair the panel.

• The front bumper has a broken piece of plastic trim (by the foglight) and a split in the middle (above the numberplate). It's a pretty flimsy plastic affair, so easy to damage (thanks to the previous owner).

Otherwise, it does of course have minor stone chips, small scuffs and tiny dents that are commensurate with its age and mileage. Having said this, the car cleans up beautifully - I regularly wash and wax it to maintain and protect the paint.

Though the drivers seat shows evidence of wear, (a few small holes appearing) it's surprisingly good! I've seen many a swift Sport with only a third of the mileage having major tears in the side bolster, it's a very common problem. The interior as a whole is so clean that you'd never believe the car has even done 100k!

My reason for selling is a very recent change to my weekly work mileage. I now have use of a work vehicle (when necessary) so can use other vehicles I own solely for personal, social mileage. It therefore seems unnecessary to keep the Swift, although I'll very much miss its turn-key reliability and superb handling!

I can provide more photos (or video) on request - I'm happy to WhatsApp them if required. If you'd like a video walk round, please do ask.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. If you'd like to view the car, please get in touch.

The car is located in Rye, East Sussex.
