Leigh Hicks worked as an insulator in New Zealand. He did work on my elderly parents house in Otatohonga. However after having the work inspected we found it was terrible. Parts of the pink bats were missing, some wasn't even installed. The underfloor installation they paid for was also never installed. It cost us $3000 to fix the damage this man did. When we went to pursue him for the shoddy work he had done, we found he had done the same thing to people all over New Zealand. He owes hundreds of thousands of dollars on poorly installed and missing insulation, unpaid rent, bank loans, credit cards, parking and speeding tickets, from places of employment and unpaid child support. He even stole money out of his 3 year olds bank account. This man is not a business man but a con man who has spent years stealing and ripping people off all over New Zealand. Then he and his company vanished into thin air. We hired a private investigator and discovered that Leigh Hicks had fled New Zealand because he had beaten his Wife and three year old son so badly, the child has permanent brain damage. If you google Leigh Hicks and New Zealand all the information about his trial and conviction is published in the media here. Unfortunately Leigh Hicks was granted a retrial and fled New Zealand before he was recharged and put back in prison. Soon after students of Leigh Hicks began coming forward and disclosing abuse while he was working as a physical education teacher. This man is a violent, abusive con man who is pretending to have years of experience with installation services but was stuck off the NZ teachers counsel here in NZ only a few short years ago. His business is not a family business but a con. If you have had work done by his please get it checked immediately. We have contacted everyone you have ripped off in New Zealand through Harcourts New Zealand and be assured that if you ever return to our country we will have you prosecuted.
