Structural Engineering, project management and design. I am Dr. Graeme Stewart Allen, DProf. CEng MICE, a Chartered Civil Engineer and Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. I am the main director of Graeme Allen Consultancy Limited (GACL), a Structural Engineering Consultancy established in 2006 and based in Enfield, North London. In 2022 I achieved my Doctorate whilst studying at Anglia Ruskin University.
I have completed over 1250 individual projects at GACL of wide-ranging scope to a diverse client base across a range of sectors which encompass commercial, residential, retail, industrial, educational, sports facilities, local authority and ecclesiastical in England and Scotland.
Prior to working at GACL I have worked within insurance loss adjusting (Royal Sun Alliance, Ellis and Buckle and Cunningham Lindsey), Consulting Engineers (Blyth and Blyth and Taywood Engineering) and Contractors (Taylor Woodrow).
I have experience in structural design, structural repair, subsidence, building construction, insurance claims management, soil mechanics and foundation design, project and contract administration and party wall procedure. I have knowledge of traditional and modern building technologies and materials. I have experience in investigating and remediation of damaged buildings and structures, particularly caused by foundation subsidence. Since 1992 I have had a role in over 1,000 cases of such damage. These roles include consulting engineer, loss adjuster, insurance company expert.
