Cricketers wanted for Stoke Newington CC’s Men's teams – all welcome!

London’s fastest growing cricket club is looking for new recruits to its Senior squad. Stoke Newington Cricket Club, formed in 1999, now fields six adult teams on Saturdays (as well as U21 & U19 sides, 14 junior teams and three women’s teams) so there’ll be plenty of cricket for everyone this summer, whether you’re looking to play high-level league cricket or recreational friendlies.

We play at the legendary Hackney Marshes which, as well as being the centre of Sunday League football, is the hub for cricket in East London. We have a fantastic new pavilion, some of the best wickets in the city and the only outdoor nets in Hackney (with four net lanes!).

Our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th XIs play Saturday league cricket in the Middlesex County Cricket League. We also have a 6th XI playing recreational friendlies on Saturdays, as well as a mixed Sunday side and two teams in the local Victoria Park midweek community league. Along with our two Women’s teams in the Middlesex Leagues and our 300-strong junior section, we are East London’s most dynamic cricket club.

Indoor training for our Senior squad will take place at Bridge Academy (Laburnum St, E2 8BA) on:

- Monday evenings (1st & 2nds XIs) from 7.30pm to 9.30pm (starting on Monday 13 January); and

- Sundays (3rd to 6th XIs) from 10.45am to 12.45pm (starting on Sunday 12 January).

Summer training will start in mid-April on Tuesdays (1st & 2nd XIs) and Wednesdays (3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th XIs) from 6.30pm to 8pm at our home ground on Hackney Marshes.
