Description
We're looking to bolster our pool of players for a weekly 7-a-side game, 7PM on Sunday nights at Toryglen (480 Prospecthill Rd, Glasgow G42 0BY).
The game has been going for over 20 years with a core of 5 or 6 plus various new friends of friends of friends joining - but we're now struggling to keep it going with reducing availability and injuries.
We also occasionally play 8-a-side when we have enough, just to ensure people get a game if we can accommodate. The pitches are big enough.
The game is competitive, but good fun with a very mixed standard of skill and fitness levels. We're ideally looking for people who have or do play 7s and can keep up with the pace, but more importantly, people who are reliable and want a bit of exercise on a Sunday and not take things too seriously.
Some info that might be useful:
- Current age range is from 18 - 60s, but most of us are 30s to 40s - we don't mind what age you are provided you are decent enough and reliable!
- We typically only play indoors - only ever play outdoors if it's summer and can't play indoors for some reason
- The game is £7 per person
- We have a WhatsApp group where we put out a poll and you just say whether you can play or not the upcoming Sunday (so you'll need WhatsApp)
- We provide bibs, one team wears bibs, the other doesn't
- Teams are picked ahead of the game with some rough logic on getting both teams balanced out in terms of player types, skills, fitness etc.
- K.O. is 7PM sharp to ensure we get the full 1hr
- The centre has changing and shower faciliaties for before and after the game
We'd love to get more names in the WhatsApp group, so if you'd like to join us or at least give it a try, please email me with some info about yourself and I'll get you added.
Thanks
