Vintage KEF Corelli 2 way 50w 8 ohm speakers. *TESTED*

I'm selling these on behalf of a friend whose father was an audiophile and had kept all his old hifi. I know a little about hifi, but if I've missed any important info, please just ask. I'll do my best to answer any questions.

These have been inspected by an engineer who has passed them as working to spec. They certainly sound excellent, even with my mid-range amp and cassette deck. (Not included in the sale BTW).

Apparently these units had a problem with the crossovers being packed too close to the internal wadding causing it to furr up a resistor when it got hot. This has started to happen with both of these, but they have been cleaned and tested and are working perfectly. (See photo of crossover). The wadding has also been adjusted to avoid this being a problem in the future. So hopefully they have many more years left in them before they need attention.

The bass/mid drivers are in excellent condition, and neither tweeter is suffering from having been poked in. See photos.

Cosmetically the cases are not mint, but I've seen a lot worse on eBay going for more. One of them had a ring-mark in the top. Both cases have been sanded back and revarnished which has improved them considerably. Please see photos of all sides of the cases. A joiner friend says these could be re-veneered quite easily, but I'd rather let the new owner decide.

Grills are in good condition for 45+ years old. No holes or pulls.
