We are looking for a friendly, outgoing, and reliable PA to support a lively and sociable 19-year-old man. He loves football/sports, going out and about, chatting, and spending time in cafes — especially if there’s cake involved!

He thrives on being active and social, so we're looking for someone who shares similar interests and can bring energy, positivity, and a good sense of fun to the role.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is, talkative, enjoys outings and sports, and be comfortable spending time doing the things he loves — whether that's watching a match, exploring new places, or just having a good chat over coffee.

While being fun and easy going is key, it’s equally important that you are responsible and able to look out for his safety, as he has limited awareness of danger and may need support in unfamiliar or busy environments.

Your role will also include some light housekeeping, helping to keep his space tidy and organised, as well as preparing meals or snacks. You may be asked to assist with shopping, whether it’s running errands or accompanying him to the shops. If you drive, that’s a big plus!

This is a rewarding and varied role for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with others, is supportive by nature, and can strike a balance between being a great companion and a responsible guide. You'll play an important part in helping him enjoy his independence while staying safe and happy.

Duties include:

- Housekeeping

- Shopping

- Cooking

- Transportation

- Companionship

Candidate qualities:

- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality

- Reliable with good timekeeping

- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative

- Hygienic, tidy and well organised

- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties

- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills

- Honest and cheerful

- Creative

- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard

- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Additional requirements

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Notes:

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

Please note, if you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.
